Collaboration

Invite other people to an online project, manage their roles, and comment together.

Share a project with other Atelier accounts. Everyone can comment on it, and editors can also edit it.

Before you start

Sign in to your account: without one, sharing doesn’t appear. Opening sharing saves the project to your account. See Projects and saving.

Open sharing

Click Share and comment (people icon), on the right of the header. Its badge shows how many people are here, including you.

The Sharing panel docks or floats like the other panels. It has three parts:

  • Project access: invite and manage members;
  • In the project now: who has the project open, and which body each person has selected;
  • Comments: the discussion about the project.

Invite someone

Only the owner can invite.

In Project access, choose Viewer or Editor under Invite as.

Click Create a link.

Click Copy invitation, then send the link yourself. Atelier doesn’t send any email.

  • A link works only once: create one per person.
  • Copy it right away: it disappears when you close the panel.
  • To cancel a pending invitation, click its Revoke this link trash icon.

Join a project

Open the link you received and sign in if needed.

Click Accept and open project.

The project then appears in My projects, under the Online tab.

Roles

The Owner is the account that put the project online.

A viewer sees the editing tools grayed out, including Undo and Redo.

Manage access

In Project access, the owner can:

  • change a member’s role with their role selector;
  • remove their access with the × button.

It takes effect immediately, with no confirmation. A person who loses access switches to read-only. They can Duplicate the project to keep their work.

Comment

Under Location, choose Whole project or a body. The selected body is suggested by default.

Write in Your comment.

Click Add comment.

Then:

  • Click the body name on a comment to select that body.
  • Resolve hides the comment. Show resolved comments shows it again, with Reopen.
  • The trash icon deletes the comment, with no confirmation.

Comments don’t go into versions or exports. For a note visible in 3D, use Annotations (see Selection and measurements).

Get new versions

Each save creates a new version. If all your work is saved, it loads automatically. Your selection and undo history are then cleared.

Otherwise, the badge on the Share and comment button turns amber. Hover over the button, then click Refresh. Your unsaved work is first kept in a “… — local backup” project.

Work together at the same time

There’s no live co-editing and no merging. If someone saves before you, Atelier keeps your work in a copy and lets you choose what to do next. See Projects and saving.

To avoid this, keep the tab visible and don’t work on the same area of the model at the same time.

Work on your own copy

A viewer can edit an independent copy. It no longer receives versions or comments.

  • In My projects, under the On this device tab: Duplicate on the project card.
  • In the project menu → Project versions: Open a copy.
